My Final Thought On The Verizon Senior Plans 2020:

Verizon Wireless has been around for many years now and they are arguably the best cell phone carrier in the U.S.

Even though the services provided by Verizon are great you should keep an open mind because Verizon provides the best services but their prices may not be the most economical.

There are other companies that provide cell phone plans for seniors at a lower price.

If you do not qualify for these plans you should take a look at the other Verizon Wireless Plans.

  1. I didn’t know that Verizon had a special plan for seniors. It is a good idea though because seniors might have different needs and desires in a phone plan. It’s great that they offer a discount for seniors! This phone looks like a great choice. It looks like it can handle anything!

        • Wanda& Marvin, Ik this was in April.. I have Verizon and just month in half ago was on phone with them and they offer it to me , I live in Ohio.. I said I heard of it tho it Florida only.. they said they have expanded it now.. I’ve not converted over yet still thinking on it.. I don’t use over gb.. use my wifi more.. I’ll call them back while it’s still available… Good luck.. I do wish they would have more info on website or send u info .. or even let seniors know when they eligible….

    • This is a IPhone XS Max . I have iPhone not this model but 6s plus n iPhone 4 that’s 10yrs old still wrks except it lags bcz of updates not supported anymore.. I will upgrade to new one soon, my wrks fine still.. I want to say I love my iPhone.. it great for seniors.. a lot androids just to complicated.. I can fig them out with playing around, but for senior it might be frustrating.. to me makes it easier to do updates and clear u history & website data.. just general web browsing.. I enjoy the customer service support with Apple..also u have less of getting virus on ur iphone compare to androids .. androids gets more virus like basic computers… usually u have download Virus protection for androids, compare Apple iPhone.. I’ve have 2 iphone and never got virus… but my recommendations for seniors is iphones with home button like the iPhone 6Plus ,7,8 and newer one SE -399$ that just came out 2020.. but for basic, seniors that don’t need extra. If ur more advance then go with current Xr-599,pro model nice.. The Xs max which Verizon still has,Xs max , Pro max model current.. .if u need big screen like me bcz of eye sight or bigger fingers the bigger screen way to go.. lol..That just my opinion.. I’ve never had my screens to break.. I have a case tho. My son has been thru 5 androids from Samsung n Lgs.. he has cracked every screen had a cases on them… sell back they hold value… That just my 2 cents…

  2. Hi There,

Great article on Verizon wireless plans for seniors review, I am a senior and always on the lookout for ways on making my life a lot easier in this day and age of the technology hike, your review has certainly assisted me on what to look for when looking at my next change of smartphone, especially like the Revere 3 with its simple flip top options and will certainly be a help for me with my ageing hands making it difficult to use normal smartphones on the market. Great review and thank you.

    Regards,
    Michael

  3. This is about the only type of phone that my grandmother can still use. She can’t read a text, so her phone is practically useless for more than a phone call. All those extra services available and she just doesn’t have the processing power anymore.
It’s a sign we have to continue exercising our brains and keep up with what’s going on rather than pushing everything away.

  4. I would like to know about the plan that would include two phone lines but only one smart phone.

I have been with Verizon since it started and so has my husband. on my phone I only want to be able to text the kids. (I can on my flip phone) I would also like to be able to pair to blue tooth some apps that are free like news and Baseball/football. I do not want internet options I have a computer at home for that. Is there such a plan in Verizon. To package two phone with 200 min each phone as we have now plus text which I have on my phone now and to be able to Add apps for Sports?

    • Hi Jackie, Verizon has made some changes to their plans since I published this blog post last year. The package with two phones that offer 200 min for each phone no longer exists. However, their basic prepaid plan starts at $30 for one line and this will include unlimited talk, text, and mobile web. There’s no contract, no monthly bills, and no fees. But mobile web is a part of the package, this may be the best option for you.

  5. I think these are great options, but if your parent needs a plan that they can be more affordable. Another option is to just add a phone to your existing account. I found a smart phone { a droid} at the time the special for the phone was free added it my account fr my mom and her portion of the bill is 49 dollars a month, unlimited talk and text and because I already have an xl plan with carry over data use is unlimited. Something to consider.

  6. I’m an along time customer of Verizon and I’ll be 66 in November. I already own a Samsung Galaxy 6. Can I get a senior rate for my phone?

  7. Hello Marvin

I am 65 plus and a Verizon customer for over 50+ years.Looking for a bare bones bundle for Seniors which includes phone (landline),tv and internet.

    Hope you can help.

    • Hello Yvonne, I’ve done lots of research on various Verizon wireless plans, these plans are for cell phone usage. However, I don’t know much about their bundles that include landlines, TV, and internet, I’m sorry.

  8. On the 65+ nationwide plan, I understand that the 450 anytime minutes are shared between the 2 phones. What about the data limits? If you have 2 phones, each with a 7GB cap, is each 7GB cap limited to each phone or do you have 14GB that are shared between the two phones?

  9. I asked about a senior plan when I recently switched to Verizon. Was told they have one but I needed to be with Verizon a couple of months to be eligible. No one mentioned you also have to be a resident of certain states to get the plan. Feeling a bit ripped off!

  10. Thank you for this information. We just moved to an area where our current phone service does not work well and thought about Verizon, but thought they would be too expensive, but with this plan they wouldn’t be! I hope their coverage is better here!

    • You’re welcome Jill, you should be aware that the Verizon Senior Plan is only available in certain states and you must be an existing Verizon member for a certain period of time before you can sign up for this plan.

  11. I live in Michigan do they offer senior plan? I see Detroit listed. I do not live in the city of Detroit. Does this mean I can’t get the senior plan?

    • Hello Jeannie, not too long ago this plan was offered in Florida, Detroit, Missouri, Illinois, and Texas. But now on the Verizon website, it only says Florida. So I called Verizon today to inquire about this, I was on the phone for over 30 minutes, I was forwarded from one person to another but I didn’t get an answer.

I got tired of it and I hung up the phone, on the Verizon website it only says Florida right now so it’s safe to assume that the Verizon senior plans are only available in Florida at the moment. If it changes in the near future, I will update this page.

  12. Only in Fla???… That’s no help for the rest of us in other states… This needs to be corrected… We seniors need all the help we can get… Kindly listen up Verizon.

  13. I purchased the ,” Verizon Senior Loyalty Plan “! Also purchased the iPhone 8 at the same time. I was so excited as I had wanted an iPhone and as a senior on a fixed income hadn’t been able to afford one before.
I’m sorry to say but after being with one of their competitors for the last 10 years I had high hope’s, however this company has never gotten the billing correct from the 2 nd day, overnight I received an email telling me that I’d used all of my data. Contacted the sales girl who assured me it was a mistake and completely taken care of. It was never taken care of,and I’ve had at least 15 call’s to Verizon, and today will have to address the exact same issue again. I have only had this phone and plan two months on 05/03/2020! So far this has been for me the worst plan, company, phone, and customer service that I have ever had,and the worst connection ever. So so disappointing, I would not recommend this company at all.

  14. “MUST have a billing address in Florida” to be eligible for the Verizon Wireless Senior Plan!?!?….You Folks should be ashamed to even state this a a requirement….We have been a Verizon Wireless Customer for longer than I can remember, but that will soon end….There are multiple competitive Senior Friendly Companies available to us. If I have mis-understood something here, then please advise….Otherwise, GOODBYE.
