Huawei Mate 20 Pro Display Screen:

The Mate 20 Pro comes with an attractive 6.39-inch OLED display screen with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The removal of the physical home button at the bottom of the screen was a great decision on Huawei’s part because the phone has a bigger display screen as a result of this.

The bezels on this phone are thin, the display screen has 2K+ resolution (3120×1440) which is roughly 537 pixels per inch.

The colors on this display screen are rich and vibrant and it provides a great user experience when watching videos or playing video games.

If you would like to change the color settings or get rid of the blue light, there are options to do this in the settings. You also have the ability to change the resolution to full HD or lower, which will extend the battery life.

The display screen on the Mate 20 Pro has curved edges which bare a resemblance to a premium Samsung phone.

Located at the top of the display screen there’s a notch, it looks very similar to that of the iPhone XS.

If you dislike the notch, there’s an option in the settings that gives you the ability to hide the notch with a black bar at the top of the display screen.

The display screen gets very bright so it’s easy to see it when you’re in direct sunlight.

The fingerprint sensor was built into the display screen, it’s extremely fast and responsive. When you place your finger on the small target area on the display screen.

The display screen will activate and a fingerprint zone will pop up, then you have to tap the display screen to awaken it to find the target.

It’s very difficult to unlock the phone via the fingerprint sensor without looking at it.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Battery:

The Mate 20 Pro has a huge 4,200mAh battery whether you enjoy playing video games, watching videos or movies you will not be disappointed with the battery life on this phone.

If you would like to further extend the battery life there are quite a few options for doing this. In the settings menu, you can choose your ideal power saving option.

The operating system will suggest that you stop certain apps from running in the background.

However, you also have the ability to manually toggle your options such as setting the phone to monochrome. Or downgrading the resolution of the display screen.

The battery life on this phone will last for almost two days of moderate use on a single charge, this is amazing. The phone comes with a 40W SuperCharger which will charge the phone from 0 to 70% in 30 minutes.

The Mate 20 Pro has wireless charging capabilities via Qi wireless charging. This phone is the first phone to feature reverse wireless charging.

This gives you the ability to use the phone as a power bank to charge other Qi-enabled devices.

To do this, you must turn the feature on then place the Mate 20 Pro and the device that needs to be charged back-to-back to start the process.

If you have a case on the phone, you will not have to remove it to use this feature because it works through cases.

This is a unique new feature that most smartphone users may rarely use because we all want longer battery lives on our phones.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Camera:

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Camera

The cameras on this phone are amazing, the Mate 20 Pro has a triple camera setup located at the back of the phone, there’s a 40MP wide-angle camera with an f/1.8 aperture.

As well as an 8MP 3x telephoto camera with OIS which has an f/2.4 aperture and an ultra-wide 16MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

All the cameras in the triple camera setup have Leica lenses, but the selfie camera does not.

The ultra-wide camera gives you the ability to take a wide variety of photos from limited positions that you normally would not be able to take.

When taking photos, the wide-angle camera gives you the ability to fit more people into the photos.

When taking photos in a well-lit setting the Mate 20 Pro does a great job. However, when taking photos in a darker setting, the photos are not bad but they tend to lose a little light contrast.

The photos taken by the Mate 20 Pro in low-light conditions are good, it’s better than the majority of the smartphones that are currently on the market at the moment. However, it’s not as good as the Google Pixel 3.

In Aperture mode you the ability to change the focus around as long as the subject is within ten feet. The camera does a great job when taking photos at close range, even from a few inches away.

For best results when doing this you should use the manual focus feature in Pro Mode.

If you want to take photos from further away the 3x telephoto camera does a great job and the hybrid 5x zoom gives you the ability to zoom in from further away than normal.

The Kirin 980 processor has two neural processing units (NPUs) which use AI to help you to take better photos when the camera app is open.

There’s a Master AI mode which automatically chooses the best mode to take a photo depending on the conditions.

My Final Thought:

The Mate 20 Pro is an extremely fast and powerful phone that performs very well. This is due to the Kirin 980 processor and the 6MB of RAM that it possesses.

This phone has a beautiful display screen which provides a great user experience. Great cameras which take amazing photos and a long battery life.

If you’re looking for a great premium phone you should strongly consider the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
