Huawei Mate 20 Pro Introduction:

The Mate 20 Pro has enough premium features to compete with the best smartphones on the market today. This phone has a triple camera setup, along with some new features that are exclusive to this phone.

Huawei was the first smartphone manufacturer to put a triple camera set up on a phone when the Huawei P20 Pro was released.

Since then other smartphone manufacturers have adopted this feature.

Within the past year, we have seen less innovation from one phone model to the next among the top smartphone manufacturers.

So the improvements in the Mate 20 Pro from its predecessor is minimal.

The Mate 20 Pro comes equipped with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone’s storage capacity is expandable up to 256GB, via Nano-Memory.

This is a new type of storage that is featured on this phone. This phone is a dual SIM phone which means it has two SIM card slots which are located next to the USB-c port.

The dimensions of the Mate 20 Pro are 157.8 x 72.3 x 8.6mm, this phone has a 6.39-inch OLED display screen. This is a large display screen with a high resolution.

The Mate 20 Pro comes with the Kirin 980 processor, this is the first Android phone to feature a 7nm chip and second in the smartphone industry after Apple’s A12.

The specs on this phone are comparable to the other flagship phones which were released in 2018. However, the Kirin 980 processor is faster than the Snapdragon 845 processor.

Mate 20 Pro comes with a huge 4,200mAh battery to ensure that the phone has good battery life. The phone also has wireless charging capabilities and it features an in-screen fingerprint sensor.

There’s a notch at the top of the display screen which houses a 24MP selfie camera and there’s a triple camera setup located at the back of the phone.

There’s a 40 MP camera, a 16MP camera, and an 8MP camera. Each of these cameras are used for a specific purpose, I will tell you what they are later on in this review.

The Mate 20 Pro is a sleek attractive phone that has a unique look and feel to it. The triple camera setup located at the back of the phone as well as the flash is slightly elevated from the back panel of the phone.

The removal of the physical fingerprint sensor at the back of the phone gives the back panel a nice semi-symmetrical look.

The Mate 20 Pro is a thin, long phone, it’s one of the largest phones on the market the aspect ratio of this phone is 19.5:9. So if you don’t have big hands, you may have a hard time handling this phone with one hand.

However, there’s an option in the settings that will give you the ability to shrink the display screen to make it easier to manage. But if you do this, a big portion of the display screen will be blank.

There are five color variants to this phone there’s Black, Midnight Blue, Twilight, Emerald Green, and Pink Gold. The Black, Twilight, and Pink Gold have glossy surfaces.

The Midnight Blue and Emerald Green have a textured back panel which makes it easier to hold on to.

The Mate 20 Pro comes with a full IP68 water and dust resistance rating. This is something that most smartphone users expect in a modern-day premium smartphone.

This phone does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, hopefully, that’s not a dealbreaker.
