Google Pixel 3 Review – One Of The Best Smartphones Of 2018

Hardware and Performance:

One of the best things about Pixel smartphones is the fact that they are always among the first phones to get the latest Android updates.

The Pixel 3 comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, this is the latest processor.

With the Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, this phone is capable of handling just about everything you throw at it.

The Pixel 3 performs very well when multitasking it’s extremely smooth and seamless, and there’s no lag.

There are 2 variants of this phone depending on how much internal storage you need, there’s the 64GB variant and the 128GB variant.

All in all, the internal storage is enough to download tons of apps, photos, and music.

The Pixel 3 runs on the latest Android operating system which is the Android 9.0 Pie. The user interface is simple and user-friendly.

The Digital Wellbeing gives you the ability to monitor your smartphone usage which includes viewing the number of times you unlock the phone daily and how many notifications you receive.

You will also have the ability to curb your cell phone usage by blocking out particular apps during a particular period and halting notifications when you are sleeping.

As far as software features are concerned, the Now Playing function is still available – this automatically displays the name of the song playing in the background on the locked screen.

The Pixel 3 has an HTC-Inspired Active Edge feature which allows you to squeeze the pressure sensitive sides to trigger the Google Assistant.

There are also lots of sensors including the barometer, accelerometer, gyroscope, and many others.

Battery Life:

The Pixel 3 comes with a 2915 mAh battery, this phone performs well in many areas, however, the battery life isn’t up to par.

The Pixel 3 will not last through one full day of moderate use, if you’re a moderate to heavy smartphone user you will be reaching for the charger before the end of the day.

Adaptive Battery:

The adaptive battery feature gives the phone the ability to limit infrequently used apps from waking up and draining the battery. This is great because it makes the phone run more efficiently.

This feature does a great job of reducing battery usage by apps you installed but no longer use, or apps you don’t use very often.

Qi Wireless Charging:

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are the first Google phones to support the Qi wireless charging standard. That’s the same standard that was implemented by LG, Apple, Samsung, and other manufacturers.

To charge these phones wirelessly Google released their own wireless charging pad called the Pixel Stand which is sold separately.

The Pixel Stand comes with an 18-watt fast charger, Google says the Pixel supports 10W wireless charging. But it turns out that this is only true if you dock the phone on the Pixel Stand.

The fast wireless charging on the Google Pixel 3 is incredible, and the new glass back allows you to charge your phone with any Qi charger.

My Final Thought:

The Pixel 3 is a great phone even though the battery life may not be up to par with other flagship phones that are currently on the market.

The pros significantly outweigh the cons, the camera, the display screen, the features, and the overall user experience that the Pixel 3 provides is amazing.

If you’re looking for a great phone that performs well you should consider getting the Pixel 3. Hopefully, this in-depth Google Pixel 3 review will help you to determine whether or not you should buy this phone.
