The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has recently issued a warning in regards to the hazards of cell phone radiation and the effect it has on the human body. The CDPH stated that it would be best for people to decrease the amount of time they spend using their cell phones.
Cell Phone Radiation:
Whenever the cell phone is not in use it would be best to keep your distance. People haven’t been using cell phones commercially for a long time so there really isn’t much data on the long-term effects of cell phone use.
However, there have been some concerns among members of the public as well as some public health professionals.
These people became concerned after the results of some laboratory experiments and human health studies recently became public. The results of the experiments suggest that long-term cell phone use may be linked to certain types of cancer and ailments.
Approximately one year ago, UC Berkeley professor Joel Moskowitz initiated a lawsuit to get the results of the laboratory experiments released to the public. Professor Moskowitz initiated this lawsuit after he became interested in finding out whether or not cell phone use increased the risk of cancer.
A draft of the document was released earlier this year, however, the final document is more in-depth. The CDPH suggest that you should not put your phone up to your ear for an extended amount of time, and you should not keep it in your pocket.
When you have poor reception, for example, if there are two bars or less. Or if you’re in a car, bus, or train that’s moving fast, your phone has to emit more RF energy to maintain the connection. So it would be in your best interest to minimize your cell phone use in these situations.
The CDPH also suggests that you should not sleep near your cell phone. Please use your cell phone responsibly.
