WhatsApp:

Whatsapp

Pros:

  • Free voice and video calls locally and internationally.
  • Free group calling.
  • Extremely secure via end-to-end encryption.

Cons:

  • Uses data.
  • Encryption will only work if both parties have the right version of WhatsApp.

WhatsApp is a very popular app that gives you the ability to make voice calls, video calls, and group calls to people all over the world for free.

WhatsApp uses data, so you must pay attention to your data usage every month if you spend lots of time talking and you have limited data.

A few years ago WhatsApp added end-to-end encryption, this applies to all forms of communication.

This means that your communication will be extremely secure because it’s encrypted.

However, if you or the person you’re chatting with has an older version of WhatsApp then your communication will not be encrypted.

WhatsApp is available on Android and iOS and there is also a web version and a desktop version of the app.

WhatsApp is a great calling app but you can’t use it to call emergency services in the U.S.
