At the moment, there are a number of cell phone plans that are currently available for seniors, including the AT&T plans for seniors. If you’re not familiar with this plan, I will tell you everything you need to know about it.
AT&T Plans For Seniors:
AT&T offers a cell phone plan for seniors called the AT&T Senior Nation plan. This plan is specifically for people over 65 years old, so what does this plan offer?
AT&T Senior Nation Plan:
- 200 anytime minutes
- Unlimited mobile-to-mobile minutes with other AT&T mobile customers
- 500 nights and weekend minutes with no roaming or long-distance fees
This is a great plan, but there’s no data and no text in this plan and it’s only available with basic phones.
However, if you’re looking for the absolute best AT&T cell phone plan that offers data you should consider the Unlimited & More plan.
AT&T Unlimited & More Plan:
The Unlimited & More plan gives you unlimited talk, text, and data for $70 per month per line.
AARP members will receive a 10% discount on qualified plans and 15% discount on wireless accessories.
AT&T has a wide variety of basic phones and smartphones to choose from. But if you don’t want an AT&T phone, you can use your own phone if you have a compatible phone that you would like to use.
How Much Does The AT&T Senior Nation Plan Cost?
The AT&T Senior Nation plan costs $29.99 per month if you don’t want data. However, if you want the plan with data which is the Unlimited & More plan it will cost $70 per month per line.
As I stated earlier, with the plan you will get 200 anytime minutes and 500 nights and weekend minutes.
Will I Have To Sign A Contract With AT&T?
If you bring your own phone, the plans will be month to month with no contract. However, if you purchase a phone through AT&T with a contract and you cancel the service before the end of the contract, you will be charged an early termination fee.
AT&T THANKS is a reward program that gives AT&T customers some unique perks and benefits. You must sign up for this program to receive the perks and benefits.
My Final Thoughts On These Plans:
This plan has offers lots of options, not only in the plans but also in the equipment offered.
This plan is ideal for anyone who does not need data, but if you would prefer to have data then there are lots of options available depending on your data usage.
The AT&T THANKS rewards program in conjunction with the AARP discount makes this plan much more enticing.
There are prepaid, unlimited, and international plans available, the coverage area for these plans include, U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
There are two things I dislike about the senior plan they are:
- Data isn’t included
- Only basic phones can be used
