5G is a double-edged sword, we’ve all probably heard about some of the benefits of 5G. However, in this blog post, I will discuss the potential 5G dangers and you can decide whether or not you think it’s real.
Arthur Robert Firstenberg is a leading activist on the negative impacts of electromagnetic radiation on public health. Firstenberg has recently described the rollout of 5G as a “massive health experiment” which may “become a global catastrophe.”
Firstenberg has been very outspoken about his disapproval for the development of 5G networks in the U.S. and internationally.
What Are 5G Dangers?
Firstenberg claims that the extremely fast broadband may cause cancer in humans and wildlife, it will also negatively impact the symptoms of electromagnetic hypersensitivity.
In an effort to stall the deployment of 5G networks Firstenberg is petitioning the World Health Organization, the EU and the UN to “urgently halt the development of 5G.”
This petition has accumulated over 40,000 signatures thus far. In addition to this, Firstenberg has also filed a lawsuit seeking $1.43 million in damages from one of his neighbors, accusing her of damaging his health by using her iPhone and WiFi connection.
In the 1980s and 90s, the general public was not happy about the commercialization of cell phones. 5G has been treated in a similar manner since it was first announced to the general public.
In September of 2018, the Mill Valley city council, in California, voted to stop the development of 5G towers and small cells in residential areas claiming “serious adverse health and environmental impacts caused by the microwave radiation emitted from these 4G and 5G Small Cell Towers,” according to an article on Motherboard.
However, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), claims that “There is no scientific evidence that provides a definite answer to that question…More research is needed before we know if using cell phones causes health effects.”
There has been a number of studies into the potential effects of cell phone radiation but they have not shown any solid evidence that cell phone radiation poses any significant health risks to humans or insects.
Never the less, many people within the scientific community are skeptical and they do not believe that the benefits of 5G technology outweigh the potential health risks to humans.
In two recent studies, male rats who were exposed to electromagnetic fields (EMFs) for nine hours a day over a period of two years showed an elevated risk of cancerous tumors.
However, these claims were dismissed after additional tests were done.
An appeal has been allegedly signed by 215 scientists from 40 countries around the world calling for international protection from non-ionizing electromagnetic field exposure.
The effects include “increased cancer risk, cellular stress, increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits, neurological disorders, and negative impacts on general well-being.”
Dr. Martin Pall, a biochemistry professor at Washington State University, has claimed in a letter that there were severe biological and health effects associated with 5G.
Which include increased risk of cancer via DNA mutations as a result of exposure to 5G networks. Dr. Pall has also claimed that the FCC is a “captured agency” which is subject to the will of the industry that it’s supposed to regulate.
If / when 5G is fully deployed it will provide broadband speeds that are over 100 times faster than the current data speeds that we have today.
However, to make this possible 300,000 new antennas are required in the U.S. alone. That’s the equivalent of three decades-worth of cell phone tower development.
The high-frequency waves provide faster data speeds but they don’t travel very far. As a result of this, the networks require a more dense array of “small cell” sites.
